New Rear Projection System explained …
Comment: It seems that who-ever wrote the article featured on this page in 1932 didn’t fully understand the process of rear projection. Quite simply the image was projected & flipped by mirror from behind the screen (rear projection on a transparent screen) There was no room for a bio box in the traditional location at the rear of the theatre. You want more info ???? OK ! – The (sound proofed) bio box is located behind the screen. The projectors faced each other screening into a mirror that reflected the image onto a translucent perforated sound screen. The results were excellent. At the time rear projection was unique to “The Times” – Contributed by Greg Lynch –
