The Mid-City Shopping Center was getting ready in October of 1972 for a cinema. Mayor John F. Faris - second from right - joined the principles of a proposed Jerry Lewis Twin Cinema to open in 1973 in Menands. But by opening in 1973, the theatre had dumped the Lewis nameplate and opted for the Star Twin Cinema.
