I found this in the Feb. 3, 2018 Buffalo (MO) Reflex, “Contributed by Springfield News Leader”. The caption suggests that the photo was taken “about 1948-50” since the Tower Theater in the foreground is showing The Naked City. “The photographer was Betty Love.”
I have no interest in the copyright to this photo. I suspect that its copyright was not renewed, and in any event, I’m posting it here for the scholarly fair use of establishing what the neighborhood looked like while the Springfield Drive-In was in operation. Reuse at your own risk.
