Baronet and Coronet Theatre
Here’s the original mock-up concept of the Cinema Twin 1 & 2. Created and architected by Abraham Geller with assistance from Ben Schlanger of the Lincoln Center, the Twin was designed for Douglas S. Rugoff’s art house circuit in 1961. Cinema I was designed with 750 seats as the A house and Cinema II would be the smaller auditorium with 300 seats. Launched date was scheduled as June 26, 1962. The mock-up was displayed at Rugoff’s Sutton Theatre with the concept explained in an abstract film by Carmen D'Avino that promised Boccaccio ‘70 as the first feature.
