Impossible. This CANNOT be the opening picture. If you notice the Cinemascope screen has been erected in front of the old flat aspect ratio screen. This was done in the mid 50’s.
The Oklahoma Historical Society said that this photo of an April 26 reopening was taken by Taylor Studio of Vinita and is part of the William B. Turk Collection.
Although this photo might be from 1956, the Lariat really did reopen for the 1961 season on Thursday, April 26, according to the Vinita Daily Journal. So that’s my current guess.

If you read the marquee, it says GRAND RE OPENING
