The prologue show in 1918 at Shea’s Hippodrome as staged by manager Harold B. Franklin has the wonderful WW1 money-raiser for War Stamps with movie star Mae Marsh live on the stage and appearing on screen. A patron bids $1,000 (in 1918!) for a personal picture with Marsh while ushers collect funds for the war effort.
