Broadway Theatre
Transitioning in 1942 from Warner Circuit to Loew’s, the Loew’s decision was to streamline the Broadway taking most of its charm to make it look new. As was the case in many transitions, the box seating was eliminated and the third balcony was removed. This picture shows the result — a short-lived austere look. In 1949, the theater would get another makeover and then another in the 1950s to adapt to widescreen.
