Launched June 9, 1948 with “The Shocking Miss Pilgrim,” the Northside Drive-In was underway. The theatre would become the Wilmington Drive-In as the Triangle Drive-In Theatre gave way quickly to the Northside Drive-In Theatre Corporation which sold out to long-time owner Chakeres Theatre Circuit and its subsidiary Wilmington Theatre Corp.
