The various incarnations of the State Theatre which started as a silent house making the transition to early film as the Rex Theatre (bottom left), getting an improved sound system and new name in 1933 as the Gem (upper right), becoming the Star Theater in 1940 (upper left two ads), suffering a fire and getting an entirely new interior as the “New” Star Theatre (bottom right), and then its final cinematic moniker of the State Theatre (bottom middle ad).
