Architectural drawing of the People’s Theater. Under the auspices of C.F. Mensing Amusement Company, Mr. Mensing would hold a contest to rename the People’s Theatre – which very briefly was known as the Unique Theatre – $10 went to a woman who came up with the Lyceum Theatre. At last count (circa 1913), the $10 was unclaimed and was given to a fund for animals.
