Decatur Drive-In
The new drive-in to be housed in Decatur, Illinois had a contest: $50 for the best name for the new o-zoner. I guess the best they could come up with was Decatur Drive-In, the name of this theater.

By the way, the drive-in theater actually didn’t open on Nov. 8, 1947 as indicated in the contest. It actually was delayed for more than six months with its grand opening on July 30, 1948.
This may had been an ad for an restaurant since the word “Downtown” was in the ad. The drive-in was built in the suburbs.
