Kind of grand for a strip theatre. Must have started out mainstream. Tiny screen for such a large looking auditorium. Silent films had smaller screens though.
Wow what a double feature. Lady in a Cage is a cult film now and has a great soundtrack. Avantgard in many ways. Theatre had a lot of art deco elements.
Love this pic. Has vintage actual Egyptian feel to it. Amber colors and desert light qualities. What a unique building. Too bad the interior has been changed so much. The proscenium has lost its charm I fear. Nice to have a new wide screen though.
Great old pic. From the 30’s maybe? Much better looking exterior design than now. Love the background territory foliage and is that smog? They even had that in the early days. My dad was there and he told me.
Yes this theatre has style. Disney should be congratulated on saving this great building and taking down all the drapes and curtains hiding the details.
