Kino Alfaon

According to one paper on Czech cinema, this at one time was the most profitable cinema in the country. I would judge from an exterior viewing only, that the Alfa is on two levels (both underground) and possibly around 600-800 seats. Cinemas do not appear to have had particularly large seating capacities here, so maybe there is some truth in the financial statement.

Another view of the Troxy – showing the pub that seemingly refused to go away when the cinema was designed!

A second screen has now been added to the Palace cinema (opened 2006) and it was one of the first in the area to utilise digital projection.

This show the balcony remains being ripped out – note the lack of seating under the balcony area.
Don’t know the current status but the agents were Barton Kendal, 122 Yorkshire Street, Burnley. Tel: 01706 353794.
Also the Northern Morris circuit, based in the North of England, would be a good operator.
