Here is another photo of the Crystal Palace in 1929. Perhaps this was a market all along.

This 1944 photo from the SFPL shows what appears to be a theater based on the vertical and the marquee. That being said, I have never heard of a theater being called “El Patio”:

This picture was taken in 1945, but the caption says Fourth looking down at Market, so the building in the forefront may be another theater. Note the smaller Portola next door showing a Cagney-Bogey western (the only one, I think):

Here is a 1948 photo from the SFPL. You can also see the Embassy and the UA, the latter which I still have nto found listed anywhere:

1947, from the SFPL. If you’re an agoraphobe, look at the picture at your own risk:

This 1936 picture shows the New Mission and the Rialto across the street. I would be curious to know if the Rialto is listed here under another name:

I am going to answer my own question. This photo from 1937 shows the Amazon at Mission and Geneva streets:

My San Francisco geography is a little shaky. The Amazon was on Geneva Avenue, but this picture of what appears to be the Amazon was located on Mission Street at Ocean Avenue, according to the SFPL:
