The Beatles Perform on Stage in 1964
Original caption: 9/21/1964-New York, NY- England’s famed mop-haired quartet, the Beatles, is in the spotlight during charity performance before an audience of screaming Beatlemaniacs (foreground) and dowdy Park Avenue matrons at New York’s Paramount Theatre here 9/21. The performance by the Beatles, who sang their “swan song” in the U.S., will benefit the United Cerebral Palsy and the Retarded Infants Services. The musicians are (l to r): Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon and Ringo Starr on drums.

Boxing Match Televised on Movie Screen
Original caption: Movie Audience Treated to Television. New York: The audience in the Paramount Theatre was treated to a surprise, April 14, when a Naval boxing program which was held just 66 seconds before was televised and projected on the huge 18 by 24 foot screen. Standard 35 mm film was used for projection. It took 66 seconds to process, dry and project the show.
Was this also known as the Masque Theatre? This 1969 ad (bottom) shows all male porn but I cant 100% read the address. I will look if I see this place listed in any other ads I have. View link
The reason this is a joke is that there are a slew of theatres in the city where the owners pay the union the dues and there is no union projectionist working there. This way the union gets the money and the theatre has the flexibility of using their own people.
I don’t know what was decrepit about it, it was and is a brick building. Even the interior of the theatre was not too bad when UA closed it. This was always booked with upscale product so it never got as rundown as the Midway and Continental did.

The Forest Hills closed as a theatre and immediately they began pulling it apart. It was never abandoned like the RKO Bushwick.
