OK my Broadway brains…been trying to remeber a theare at Broadway and 47th street…where Roxy Deli is now. The exit doors would put you on 47th street facing the Orleans…
i think Moss ran it in the late 70’s…
Thanks in advance..
EW….thanks for your post, i also managed the Rivoli in the mid 70’s. You said you were there when it closed…I was out of state during that time…can you please tell what you were told when and why it was closed…also, didn’t UA at one point want to put a third screen…was there any kind of movement to save the Rivoli?
thanks in advance for
YOU WERE THERE!
Anyone remember or have ever been to the Paramount around 59th st.
It was round and small street level box office, the theatre was about 200 feet below street…
What i said what i knew was true…and yes i do know the answer to my question…what i was getting at that you missed was…i asked you know the real tech side ie: expert on numbers..when you were
talking about, Aug 17 8:07 Cinerama 2.65, 2.76 etc.
Cinerama vs Todd A-0 D-150..After 35 years just wanted confirm what i knew….i thought you could do that and not take a shot at me…
William
I was mgr. of the Rivoli NY. home of Mike Todd’s TODD-AO….what i remember, whatever the movie 35mm or 70mm it was on the D-150 screen.
It sounds like you know more about tech side of all this…
My question is wasn’t this more about the lens…Todd A-O whatever
film you project through the lens shows up equal on a D-150 screen?
thanks
the so called basement 4 came first in the late 70’s in the basement of the bond build…the main house was not split up at this time..
bond was under going it’s own make over with a two or three leval night club…for a point of ref…go to post march 22 2010 click on flickr…click on the bond photo on the right…the window to the left of the marguee is where the entrance to the basement 4….had it’s own box office…the split up of the main house came later..
ON THE MARQUE VOTE FOR TOM CILMI COUNTY LEGISLATURE..
HE MAYBE A DEM OR REP…ANYONE KNOW HIM….IF HE CAN USE THE ISLIP THEATRE TO GET VOTES HE SHOULD SAVE DOWNTOWN ISLIP AND SAVE THE THEATRE AS SOME KIND OF THEATRE….HE’S A WEST BABYLON GRAD…

I was watching GAC 12/11/10…The Gaithers had a show that was taped in 2000….What a theatre!
Anyone remember or have ever been to the Paramount around 59th st.
It was round and small street level box office, the theatre was about 200 feet below street…
Went by it today 12/3 all boats are gone with a we moved sign..
but did still has a boat on roof..
Nothing happening, just a big for rent sign…
I saw it also but, they also had acts on stage at the Hard Rock..
It looked very large….anyone know if they are using the theatre shell of the old Paramount? has any of you been inside?
Just wondering….
Chris…I would try Newsday or booking office for UA..
If NYozoner can find an ad from 1954 they sould have stuff on file..
Check this place out…lots of broadway shows….good actors..
this theatre is never dark…they roll shows in and out of there like movies…
thanks.
