The Movies 1 and 2 sat in the middle of this now vacant shopping strip. The manager’s name was Mr. Williams, whose father once owned controlling interest in Frontier City Amusement Park, including the Frontier City Cinema.

On this modern day view of Lamont, if you pan right, I’m guessing that the white buidling on left (with metal awning) is the former Meta Theatre. Maybe an oldtimer could confirm this.

Enjoying a profitable life as a cinema this movie house was known as Woods, Bijou, and Empress. After getting an Art Moderne facelift the name was again changed to Royal Theatre.
