John..I remember as a kid, there was a drive in that you could see off 283 near the Millerville/East Petersburg exit. There is a bottled water company and if memory serves a trucking/trailer company. I thought that was home to the Comet.
Several years ago I contacted the Dauphin County Historical Society. Looking for pictures of Harrisburg theaters I have several of the Senate. One of the Colonial. No interior shots. None of the other area theaters.
Most people DO NOT understand what capitalism is. I still wonder why Michael Moore imbibes in it, but hates it so.
Scott I am in total agreement with you.
Is Michael going to spend his own money?
My mistake….He didn’t own the National. I knew he owned 4 theaters. I got the Grand and the National mixed up.
Joseph Musil…May you rest in peace.
Kelly Cadillac was built on farmland. I think Kelly has been there around 15 years plus or minus.

Isn’t there a bottled water company on the land the Comet use to be on?
Thanks John. I knew you would weigh in on this.
Ross, there was a 4 screen indoor theater on the premises, run by AMC. I haven’t been by as of late so I am not sure if that building still stands.
The letters that spelled out SENATE can be found in the front window of Tri State Music on north 3rd street in the city of Harrisburg.
Great pic(s) Penway
I never thought of Mark Cuban as extremely bright.
There is a nice photo on cinema tour of the forty fort.

Another one of your top-notched write ups John. I am trying to think where it was located at. Have you ever been inside?
Michael Lynton is an idiot. If people were buying healthier snacks, the theater owners would have provided these snacks along time ago.
Foureyes…have your friend Jan contact me at I would like to talk to her about her pictures.
Thanks John for adding to my write up. The lobby area now houses the Potomac Bead Company.
