Landmark Theatres Sunset

Friday night I was at the Virgin Megastore; it is closing at the end of the month because the owners of the complex will not renew thier lease. They did want to stay and even offered to downgrade to one floor. The renovation construction has ceased. There was going to be a new Trader Joe’s where the Guitar Store was, now that is not going to happen. It appears that the whole complex may be torn down. Gone will be whatever is remaining there including the Laemmle SUNSET 5 theatres. I’m not sure how accurate this info is and if it is true how quickly it will happed. But another high profile theatre in L.A. looks to be biting the dust.

I live in walking distance from the Sunset 5 so it is a frequent visting place for me. Not very spectacular but still a great place to see quiet intimate Art films. But I after stopping at the Virgin Megastore and Guacho Grill for dinner it gets quite expensive. Still one of my favorite theatres in L.A.
