The COOPER began showing Cinerama presentations in 1961, not 1953. Prior to the COOPER, Cinerama presentations in Oklahoma City were shown at the WARNER (1956-57).

I think you need to locate a library that has the KC and St. Louis papers on a digitally archived or microfilm collection instead of expecting others to just give you all of the info. If you cannot travel to a library, then consider requesting microfilm via Inter-Library Loan or hire a professional researcher to do the research for you.
There may have been 70mm-equipped theaters in Columbia (CINEMA), St. Joseph (FOX EAST HILLS and/or TRAIL), and possibly the GILLIOZ in Springfield.
For the Kansas City market, “Brainstorm” played at GLENWOOD. For St. Louis, “Brainstorm” played at both CREVE COEUR and MARK TWAIN. The film opened on Sep. 30, 1983.

If you’re curious about where the third Indiana Jones movie (“Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade”) played in 70mm, and there were many, please see my Indy tribute that’s posted on Fans of Showmanship. I never did post this here on Cinema Treasures. Perhaps I should have.
That’s a start, but you have a long way to go if your objective is to create a comprehensive historical reconstruction of which films were exhibited in 70mm in Kansas City and St. Louis.
Despite the perception that Kansas City and St. Louis may have been secondary markets (Springfield certainly is), nearly all of the 70mm roadshows from the ‘50s and '60s played those markets in 70mm. “The Sound Of Music”… “Ben-Hur”… “2001: A Space Odyssey”… etc. And I think some will be surprised at how many theaters in those markets were equipped with 70mm projection capability.
As for the 1980s & ‘90s…I do not have a comprehensive list, but am aware that titles with very large 70mm print runs (100+) would typically play KC and St. Louis. Stuff like the second, third and fourth “Star Trek” movies, second and third “Indiana Jones,” “Aliens,” “Brainstorm,” “Top Gun,” “Far And Away,” “Willow,” “Dick Tracy,” “Quest For Fire,” etc.
The two lines of dialogue deleted from my posting were:

The original first-run of “Star Wars” back in 1977/78 started at COOPER, and then in mid-December when “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind” opened, it was moved to CONTINENTAL where it continued for another six months.

The COOPER began showing Cinerama presentations in 1961, not 1953. Prior to the COOPER, Cinerama presentations in Oklahoma City were shown at the WARNER (1956-57).

I think you need to locate a library that has the KC and St. Louis papers on a digitally archived or microfilm collection instead of expecting others to just give you all of the info. If you cannot travel to a library, then consider requesting microfilm via Inter-Library Loan or hire a professional researcher to do the research for you.
There may have been 70mm-equipped theaters in Columbia (CINEMA), St. Joseph (FOX EAST HILLS and/or TRAIL), and possibly the GILLIOZ in Springfield.
The new SOUTHCENTER 16 has 4K projectors. Those other theaters you mention use 2K.
For the Kansas City market, “Brainstorm” played at GLENWOOD. For St. Louis, “Brainstorm” played at both CREVE COEUR and MARK TWAIN. The film opened on Sep. 30, 1983.

(On the Indy list, consult the Kansas section as well as Missouri since, as you know, Overland Park is across the state line.)
That’s a start, but you have a long way to go if your objective is to create a comprehensive historical reconstruction of which films were exhibited in 70mm in Kansas City and St. Louis.
Despite the perception that Kansas City and St. Louis may have been secondary markets (Springfield certainly is), nearly all of the 70mm roadshows from the ‘50s and '60s played those markets in 70mm. “The Sound Of Music”… “Ben-Hur”… “2001: A Space Odyssey”… etc. And I think some will be surprised at how many theaters in those markets were equipped with 70mm projection capability.
As for the 1980s & ‘90s…I do not have a comprehensive list, but am aware that titles with very large 70mm print runs (100+) would typically play KC and St. Louis. Stuff like the second, third and fourth “Star Trek” movies, second and third “Indiana Jones,” “Aliens,” “Brainstorm,” “Top Gun,” “Far And Away,” “Willow,” “Dick Tracy,” “Quest For Fire,” etc.

Normally, I wouldn’t condone profanity in the postings, but since these clearly were quotes of dialogue from the movie, rather than words coming from a member making a post, and because I had shown the courtesy of including a “Spoiler Alert: Includes Profanity” blurb, I thought including those lines would have been fine, especially since one was the signature line from the movie and the other was, in my opinion, among the most humorous.
I’m fine with the editing decision as it is their website and they can run it as they see fit. I just wanted to bring it to your attention.

The original first-run of “Star Wars” back in 1977/78 started at COOPER, and then in mid-December when “Close Encounters Of The Third Kind” opened, it was moved to CONTINENTAL where it continued for another six months.

REndres: I took a peek at Variety and didn’t see McVickers ever listed as having the same owner as McClurg Court. In late 1955, when it began showing 70mm/roadshow films, the McVickers ownership was listed as JL&S. In the late 1960s, McVickers was run by Trans-Beacon, and by the early ‘70s and the close of the roadshow era it was listed as Diana.
