I find it odd that they would think of dismantling the chain when they are right now building a huge new Cinema de Lux complex next to their headquarters in Dedham, MA.

The theatre you are thinking of was the Cinema 733, which indeed shared a building with Paul’s Mall and the Jazz Workshop.
You probably saw all of those at the first Beacon Hill Theatre, the one that was torn down in 1969.

Boston Lyric Opera stages its shows at the Shubert. There were several shows this year, and more next spring.

The Pilgrim didn’t become a Chinese restaurant. The nearby Center did, and remains one today.
