AMC Orleans was rumoured to be closed by the end of this month, but I just asked a manager from there and they are not closing down, they are staying open.
Actually this theatre isn’t demolished, it’s still standing barely, looks in really bad condition after some people felt like setting fire to the front, and it just sits there, it hides BEHIND the shoppin center, they SHOULD tear it down, and maybe built a new one.
Who knows if AMC will tear this down and build one over. The building for theatres 5-8 is the back of pep boys (as it say it was a pathmark, which closed the same year i was born) Sadly now there will not be a theatre in walking distance from my house (well the devon is becoming the devon performing arts theatre)
Yes, there was a good article on the devon couple years back in the daily news, from what i recall it opened as a movie theatre, then in the 60’s or 70’s became an adult theatre to try and get movies, up until 98 or 99 it showed month old movies for under 2 bucks, it closed but opened again for a year at the most then closed for good, until now. the daily news pointed out how it was the last of its kind in philly.
i am from philadelphia (i work at amc neshaminy 24) and would like to see the full size pics of the mayfair theatre (which is now an eckerd) but im not paying 40 bucks
Latest rumoured news is that Orleans will definatly close in april, then they will begin building target (after they knock some stuff down!)
Orleans cant get closed, it has the distinct honor of being the worst AMC ever!
