BTW, how is business at the theater since the new rockaway theater opened? Prices at this and other clearview cinemas around morris county are a bit cheaper than AMC’s, although AMC’s morning shows are cheaper than the matinees at clearview.

Just went to the theatre to see “V for Vendetta” in the same theatre in #4, back to normal, the only thing I noticed was that they cranked up the subwoofer since the theatre’s audio is Dolby Stereo; the picture was pretty good with a few splices and the sound was loud and decent. The outside marquee that says “Clearview Cinemas” is pretty nice and modern, and the popcorn was fresh and good. All in all, this cinema has improved a bit.

I don’t know…ask the theatre manager, he might know.

Just went to the theatre last afternoon to see a matinee showing of “Running Scared”…while watching the movie, I heard some booming noises outside auditorium #4; to my suprise, according to the ticket cashier, some of the staff members used a broomstick to clear some dust or something in the lobby…according to the cashier, they might add something to the windows to block the sun from blinding the workers.

Just went to see “Firewall”…good movie, decent crowd before the big snowstorm…it was in theatre #10, which is like #9. Any new info on how the new theatre is doing?

Just went to the movies today to see “narnia”, and it was good to see a recent movie playing in one of the two new auditoriums! The screen looks like one of the larger screens from Mansfield, and is one of the better screens in Succasunna. The theatre where I saw it was theatre #9.

Just went to the movies to see King Kong (great movie) and saw that the new screens were nearing completion while work was done on the front marquee. Can’t wait to go to the theatre again soon!

Just went to the movie theatre today to see Harry Potter in theatre 5 and boy, the theatre people are hard at work on the two new auditoriums while keeping the remaining 8 theatres open! Nothing much has changed in the theatre except the new improved bathrooms and the ticket office is finally indoors (just in time for the cold winter and whatever mother nature brings)! It wasn’t crowded at all (just a matinee), yet they didn’t promote the cheap Custumor appreciation week (still $6.50 to get in for matinees, $9.50 for evening shows). Oh, well. Finally, the sucasunna is back!

You know, with the rain coming and the snow, it might be delayed.

The theatre closed again on “Black Friday” because a sprinkler pipe burst upstairs, which flooded much of the building. The hope is that the building can re-open within a week, but that may not be possible.

I hope they finish just in time for another big movie, King Kong! Please keep me posted, John, on the theatre updates, OK?

Strange, they were open Wednesday night. The design almost looks like a Regal Cinemas- the two new theaters (located to the right at a 90 degree angle) will be designed so that the projection booth is about 5 feet above the floor- there will be chance they can upgrade the those two new houses to Stadium Seating in the future without digging underground.

As for the closure – it was extremly cold there Wednesday night (the new bathrooms had no heat for example). I don’t know whats going on with it. I asked the ticket selller if she knew when the project would be complete she had said December was the target date but she doubts it’ll be finished in time.

Interestingly enough I asked a concession stand attendent the same thing and she didn’t know either. I then commented that “those upstairs theaters are gone” – she said “yeah, we get a lot of complains”, I then asked if her she knew what those theaters originally were for. She didn’t. I’m not blaiming her but I thought that working there those upstairs theaters would be sort of an urban legend for the employees. Guess not.

Hey guys … some general comments:
(1) Clearview is NOT building an IMAX theatre/screen, although undertaking many capital-improvement projects such as the addition to Cinema 10 and the new sound @ Cinema 12 (no plans to change the seats as of now)
(2) The Rockaway theatre will go in despite the merger of AMC & Loews, and will be located right next to route 80
(3) Cinema 10’s 2 new screens should be ready to open for Christmas, and will NOT have stadium seating (more expensive than a sloped floor)
(4) John is right – Cinema 10 is so successful because of its great location. Look for Cinema 10 & 12 to take a BIG hit though from the Rockaway opening next summer.
(5) The new marquee in front of C10 is going to look HOT!
