This may have been the first RI showing of Maedchen in Uniform. It played in 1934 at the Community in Centredale and the Rialto in Woonsocket and at Pembroke College in Providence.

This controversial (and beautiful) German film with a lesbian theme had been shown the previous June in Centredale RI at the Community Theatre. The English-language version was shown. Also known as MAEDCHEN IN UNIFORM.

This theatre showed movies in the immediate postwar period. HOTEL BERLIN and HOLLYWOOD CANTEEN played here in 1945 according to ads found in the Westerly Sun. At that time they shared bookings with the Strand Theatre in Hope Valley.
