Patsy, there is a theatre in EDGEFIELD,S.C. where i was told by another old theatre dawg that the booth, equipment and everything is still in place. I think a dress shop of all things occupies the main theatre. So I bet a lot of old theatres still have the Booth intact.
Wait just a minute, people stood in lines to see “THE GREAT GATSBY” Heck, we couldn’t give tickets way. Bruce Dern and Robert Redford should have found a western to do. oh, it was NYC.
I had a friend whose car broke down in a small Colorado town and while waiting for the repairs he finds out who in town owns the old movie house and he Finds guy that owned the old theatre, gave Charles a tour inside. I can’t believe he did not take his camera.Wonder where that old Colorado Movie house was at?
I left Columbia 1 and 2 in NOV.1980.I left Georgia Square Cinemas I II III &IV on DEC 1983,dowdeyla, most theatre folks remember stuff like that.OF course you wrote this 2005,so i am probably writing to myself.

This Drive-in parked 650 cars and was owned in 1956 by Sero Enterprises.

Grand opening with “THUNDERBALL” Great opening Flick. Much better than when Loew’s in Tampa opening a major theatre with the soft-core"CANDY".
