Yet another former GKC complex.

This has been merged with the adjacent Quad 4. The entire complex is now the Goodrich Saginaw 12, with first-run movies on all 12 screens. Might want to merge the listings.

I saw Rango here in April.

The Quad has been combined with the adjacent Saginaw 8. Both complexes are now just one theater, the Saginaw 12. I was here in April and can confirm that all 12 screens are now first-run. Might want to merge the listings.

Address is Janes Avenue, not “Jasmes”.

The drive-in is still a vacant lot.

Oh, and before anyone asks, yes this is Williamsburg and not Acme. I have no idea why â€" the community of Acme is at the junction of M-72 and US-31, and the community of Williamsburg is actually about 7-8 miles east on M-72. However, the businesses around the M-72/US-31 junction (including two gas stations, a Chase bank, a McDonald’s and a Kmart) are all Williamsburg addresses, while the businesses about ½ mile south on US-31 (including two chain motels and an ACE Hardware) are where the Acme addresses begin. Very confusing.

Looks like it opened as a 2-screener. No idea when #3 and #4 were added.

I used to go to Traverse City a lot between 1997 and 2005, and I’m almost 100% certain on the closing date.

The site is still a vacant lot. There was also a Dairy Isle ice cream shop in the parking lot, closed and demolished around the same time.

The mall is called RiverTown Crossings, not River Walk. Please correct this.

Wow, I write in short bursts. Anyway, this is part of the Grand Traverse Mall.

Another GKC multiplex. Opened in 1990 as part of the Horizon Outlets (now Preferred Outlets) outlet mall. Interesting that GKC built this and the Grand Traverse Mall multiplex only a year apart.

Google doesn’t recognize the address for some reason.

The lot has been largely dug up for some excavation.

Interestingly, this and the Sundown in Rosebush were only 2 miles apart. Owen’s Soft Water (http://www.owenssoftwater.com/) now operates on the site.

As of the late 2000s, the marquee, snack bar and screen are indeed intact. The lot is now used to store trailers.

TenPoundHammer commented about Family Theater on May 11, 2011 at 1:51 am

It was the movie I didn’t like. I was 10 in 1997, so I had no interest in very long movies, much less once about romance.

I’ve been here a couple more times since they twinned it. As I said, both theaters are VERY tiny â€" it must be about 12 seats wide in either one, plus a bench in the back of each auditorium. We usually watch from the bench.

TenPoundHammer commented about Corral Drive-In on May 10, 2011 at 11:40 pm

Also known as Corral Drive-In. Listed as being owned by Fridley.

Topo map shows it at 120th Ave. and Ash St., where the (now removed) railroad track crosses.

Something has been built on the site, but I can’t tell what it is.
