Venue opened July 3, 1962.

Architect was James Willingham.

Original owners & operators were Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Hartstein and associates.

When the movie got boring, one could always watch the Wabash streamliners whiz by. That trackage is now the Metrolink route to Lambert Field.

I was almost scared to open that “free pass”…considering the history of the Olympic/Rock Road. :o)

Once again, inaccuracies on the part of Mr. Van Bibber. Wehrenberg Theatres didn’t take over this theatre until the mid 1970’s when they also changed it’s name from “Olympic” to “Rock Road”. The porn movie part is accurate, but the closing date is not. This theatre closed around 1980-81. I know this because I attended films at this drive in throughout the late 1970’s and into the early 80’s.
