Everyone should see shows at this theater. Their production of Cabaret was excellent.
ITS a great local theater many of my friends have been in the shows and go to the theater…..
By the way, I forgot to add they also accept volunteers, and it is not a religious theater as the title suggests. This year’s productins included Biloxi Blues, and South Pacific.
It should live. However, they plan to have another season, and I’m told they almost closed down before. I would suggest that people go there because the caliber of performance is high. This is from a theater student. It’s really like any other community theater. However, they had a meeting last year because the rent was raised. That was why they started the concert series. They still produce musicals, the current one being Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. I encourage people to come and see the shows because they are excellent.
how is the theater doing???
Okay;
You are all right, that is a Halloween thing. It’s for the Haunted Theater they have coming up. I don’t know anything about it.
Okay;
I happen to usher at the theater which is now the Creative Ministries Performing Arts Center. I would give you the link, but I write it wrong somehow, but they have a website, and they put on musicals. They almost closed down, believe it or not. By the way, they are now putting on Doo Wop shows, and have an Elvis Show coming up.
that is for halloween.
Was this ever a circut house?
Is that a Halloween thing they are doing there, or is that thing on the marquee a permanent thing?
This theater is in one of the worst locations for a theater nice enough inside outside ugh….
Here’s a current photo of the Oakdale Theater, which is also known as the Creative Ministries Art Center:

Okay, just the last sentense needs to be removed above. I could have sworn it was converted to stores. It closed as a movie theater in the early 1990’s. The entire shopping center was in decline for years afterwards with the loss of the movie foot traffic, and the supermarket that closed around the same time as the theater. A KFC building stood vacant for years, and the east end of the shopping center was even torn down in the mid 90’s.
In the last few years though the shopping center has made a comeback, and is finally filled up again. This past year the KFC was finally torn down, and a new Wendy’s built in it’s place.
I am glad to hear the theater has at east been restored for live theater.
INFO NEEDS TO BE CHANGED……
The OAKDALE theater is alive and well as a live theater and has been restored.
