I’ve read hundreds of above posts. They are not about Embassy Theatre memories. They do not “spring therefrom” They have nothing to do with the purpose of the website, and many above posts in a creepy way are overly personal in ways nothing to do with this website. I agree with Warren.
Dear Warren
Hi again from JoAnn. Warren, you asked for “an official statement by management on what is considered acceptable subject matter for this listing”. Wait…Aren’t YOU Management?? Aren’t YOU the one in control of this website??
Why are you so mad that people are using this site to talk (1) about the Embassy Theatre memories and (2) chats that are sprung therefrom?
Where did you come from, by the way, back then? Are you an old East-New-Yorker yourself? Did you/do you have ownership of the Embassy Theatre as we knew it? Did you ever EVEN GO THERE TO SEE A MOVIE??Or are you a shareholder of this website, which would thence give you the power to make your comments heretofore? I think that if any of the aforementioned apply, you’d be screwing yourself in your efforts to squash what’s been going on in here.
I’m trying to be very polite and diplomatic here. Would you do me a big favor and honor a request (brought forth above) to POST a picture of the old Embassy Theatre as we knew it? I would cherish that picture and even put it as my ‘screensaver’, and pass it on to what would amount to about 100 more east new york people who would then, enter this website and post comments, and thus, render themselves vulnerable targets of your relinquishments?
Again, please tell me, what IS your interest in this website, aside from keeping people OUT of it, if they dare NOt mention the words “Embassy Theatre”, every time they write.
With all due respects,
JoAnn LaForte (BSS class of 1967)

Well Warren what new information can you give on the Embassy?
We’re not trying to win a war here just reconnect with some old friends and enjoy some of the same memories. I don’t think anyone has suffered any damage due to personal comments.
People remembering old friends should not be considered unacceptable subject matter!
I understand Warrens concern but he does not seem to have anything new to add about the Embassy. I agree with Robbie we have a common bond when it comes to our old neighborhood and nothing but the fondest memoires. I don’t think anyone is hurt by the memories that this website sparks in many of us! Actually I for one am thrilled that so many are enjoying themselves…….
Patty…
These off topic remarks cause no real problem. There appear to be no photos nor other historical information at this time.If not for these comments nothing would be posted here. The community that has gathered on this page is all that is left of the Embassy- that is memories.I do believe that for extended personal communication, email would be a good choice, however, those who gathered at The Embassy should be welcome to come together here.

JoAnn,
I couldn’t have said that any better or nicer.

I don’t wish to offend Warren in here, so please direct emails to me at
Warren, I went in here to look up something from my past – the Embassy Movie Theatre. A very important part of my past. It’s kind of hard when you see old, long-lost friends' names and not get all excited and start chatting. The Embassy was something we all had very much in common. Talking about it just sprung up a whole bunch of other conversations.
I DO appreciate your concern and am therefore providing my email above. I hope you’ll not mind if other people do that too, and then perhaps the ‘off-topic’ postings will cease.
That’s the best I can do to help. But in closing, once again, thanks for the Memories of the EMBASSY!
Gratefully,
JoAnn
JoAnn,
I am married to John Sindone. Your name sounds familiar to both of us, just can’t seem to place you. Which High School did you go to? You lived around the corner from me, I was on Logan between Ridgewood and Etna. I lived next door to Lynn Zangrillo who also went to Blessed Sacrament. Maybe you remember my brother Joe.
Patty..
JoAnn,
I actually saw a lot of your contributions of pictures on the Tapeshare website. What a great time we had! I lived there for 41 years (the last 10-15 not being so great) but before that I wouldn’t trade my life there for anything!
Joanne
okay joanne, now i do remember you also being there; marsha was my brother’s friend from the old days on some porch on logan street i think, it was at zebra’s in copiague we all met about 2 years ago, that’s where we went to see the gapwilson band when they first got back together, they are still playing 2x a month, we can tell everyone in here that those guys are from e.n.y., go to gapfans.com and everyone can check them out and see who they remember in the band plus, come and see them play and get together with a lot of old friends who are from the area.
and to richie trupia, i already have denise’s email, i talk to her all the time

Hi JoAnn,
I don’t know if you remember me but I met you last year at a club in Copaige with my in-law Adele Leccese (Mannarino). You were with Denise and Monica. I am a good friend of Billy Baierlein who will be turning 60 on April 26th. His wife is throwing him a big party. I used to live on Jamaica Avenue between Norwood and Logan. Hope you are well.
Joanne
Richard Trupia you are Denise’s brother and she is my very good friend! This just can’t be! I am still friends with her now! You remember me as “JoAnn and Lorraine”
She is married to Teddy, so you know I’m tellin the truth here. How funny is this?
And for the record, I graduated from Bishop McDonnell 1971
JoAnn
p.s. i might as well give up my email
JoAnn,

ah so sorry as Paula just emailed me – maybe a bunch of people can do like we did in the old concert days and ‘just stand outside’ and wait for people to come out ha ha and get a glimpse, say hi
you know it’s nice that this “embassy” website lets us chat in here, i was wondering – how much WAS it to get in there back in the mid-60s? does anyone remember the matron – the old woman with the very curly light blonde hair and white matron outfit and flashlight? I DO, and I remember the thrill some people (not me of course) would get from sneaking IN the side door! the whole place would light up for about a minute with the sunlight and then that lucky person would be in a seat somewhere.
JoAnn: just to let you the know the reunion you mentioned is now sold out….hopefully someone else will organize another one….
Paula S.
In answer to Troop 4/15/08:
Big reunion planned Saturday June 28, 2008 for any and all ENY people at LaBella Vita, Ozone Park NY Queens, 718 835 6161 to verify if you’d like, it’s $45/person and it was organized by a gal named Paula Smith Sorvillo, is her email. It initially began as a Franklin K. Lane alumni early 60s grad thing. From what I hear people are flying in from all over the USA to go to this
JoAnn L.
Muzer,
Sometimes I loose my breath just thinking about the old days and neighborhood.I lived there for only 8 years 65-73,but it left an impression I will have forever.

Who’s planning a get together?
patty are you related to John Sindone? Can’t figure out why that name is so familiar. I come from class of 1967 Blessed Sacrament and lived on Ridgewood & Norwood, hung out at cordes late 60s early 70s, also went many times to Embassy Theatre (saw “help” there – most notable memory) reconnected recent years with several dozen of my BSS classmates. also someone in here mentioned John Natoli, well he was the principal where i now work in 2000-2001 then retired. small world. also remember Judy from Cordes and the 2 brothers she worked with behind the counter.
enjoyed reading everyone’s stuff in here so i signed up.
