The Miracle during the early ‘70s was a great house. The TV in the lobby was always tuned to WTVJ-4 (also a Wometco property), and the A/C was strong. I saw The Way We Were multiple times in its original run at the Miracle, even taking a date once to sit on the lip of the balcony to make out. The Miracle capped off the tony feel of the Mile during those years. After a movie we’d go to The Scandinavians (a gift shop way ahead of its time for Miami), and then Jahn’s for ice cream.

There is an error in this listing: currently, the Miracle theatre does NOT have a movie screen, as it is not currently a movie theatre. It WAS a single screen when it opened, then split into two theatres side-by side, and the split again to create two small screening rooms in the balcony.
The architect of the renovation is John Fullerton of Fullerton, Diaz and Associates.

Much of the original architecture remains, including the marquee and ticket kiosk, lobby, and auditorium.

The Miracle Theatre opened on December 7th, 1948 and it seated 1600 people. The architect of the Miracle Theatre was William H. Lee for the owners the Miracle Mile Realty Corp. and it was to be operated by the Wometco Theatres chain.
