To my knowledge AMC hasn’t changed any of it signs. Maybe they plan on keeping the theaters AMC/Loews like RKO/Stanley Warner kept the 2 names when they merged.
I agree with the post above. I went to AMC Granite Run 2 weeks ago when I was in town and AMC sucks. The theater had so many ads plus the popcorn was so salty it made me sick. The manager was nice enough to refund my money.
As of right now, the Loews name will still be used as a division of AMC Entertainment, which has more theater brands than any theater exhibitor in America. Speaking of Cherry Hill, have you seen Ali Larter going to that theater, since she was born and raised in that town? She’s the woman who’s in Heroes, and the AMC Moviewatcher preshow is hawking her hit show a lot!!!
Rode by this past weekend and all the signage on the outside of the theatre complex still says LOEWS, wonder when they will change it to the AMC nameplate?
12-18-1998 article (probably Philadelphia Inquirer) stated that Cherry Hill would have 4400 seats and take up 95,000 square feet and be Art Deco in style.
I miss thew time when Lowe’s cherry hill was the place to go now that AMC took over the theater when down hill it’s dirty, movies never start on time, there’s always sometime wrong with the projection system, and they changed the food combos. Experience the Difference yea there’s a difference a poor quality difference. I go to Carmike Theaters in Allentown its a all Digital picture and sound. Hope Camden, NJ movie house with 2 IMAX screens at the waterfront opens soon

This is the WORST Theatre….Everytime I go to see a new movie…The theatre is always packed with ignorant people…Both young & older.
I just went this past Sat (Feb. 6 2007) & it was a waste of my $9.50. Between the people yelling comments back & forth to their friends across the theatre…to the cell phones ringing & being answered & Then the peopel haveing loud convos like they were out side & not caring that their were people who wanted to watch the movie.
We complainewd as did other people…& all we got the first time was a young worker come in..stood there…saw some one he knew (one of the trouble makers) he shook his hand & off he went….The second time they sent a couple people in..towards the end of the movie who stood there a half hour. The theatre was real quiet then….but again, as soon as they left…it was mayheim.
We complained after & wanted our money back…all we got was a lousy guest pass (which i did not take)Sae yourself aggravation & don’t go here…If they can’t handle the kind of people they attract..they should close down or charge a cheaper rate!

Rest of the Best
If you’re into cinema as consumerism, the AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 and the AMC Neshaminy 24 (the top two-grossing screens in the Delaware Valley), the Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22 and AMC Franklin Mills 14 all offer a sufficient if not soulless multiplex experience conveniently located near huge shopping centers with miles of free parking and fast food.

As far as the first comment is concerned about the bridge… even tho a truck hit it, they are going to rebuilt it. Now about the idea about parking in the mall and walking over a pedestrian bridge to see a movie… that’s a serious hike between two vast parking lots. That bridge wasn’t built for people with cars… it was ment for the people who come to the mall in a bus to deter them from crossing rt. 38 on foot and getting themselves killed. – not to mention the “element” in the area.. there is no way you would ever find me trapped on that bridge.
How I miss House 5 at the old Eric Pennsauken. It had at least a thousand seats.
Here’s the seat counts posted on signs outside each auditorium in half the theater. Maybe next time I get admitted to the other half, I will compile that list, too.

What does this merger mean for the AMC Marlton 8? It was my favorite place to see movies until the Ritz opened, but last time I was there (for “Rent”) it didn’t have much life.
2 of the AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 Theatre’s managers from when it was Loews Cineplex Cherry Hill 24 Theatre now are at the AMC Neshaminy 24 Theatre.

In the Philadelphia Inquirer movie ads today, listed as AMC Loews Cherry 24. And, there’s an ad (5.5" wide, 3" high) that says

…and that pedestrian bridge over Rte 38 that was mentioned in the first posting…..well, a truck hit it some time ago, and it’s no longer there.
On another topic, in Aud. 23 or 24 (the 2 largest), I saw some years ago “The Thin Red Line.” At the beginning of the end credits, the auditorium lights raised to half, but then the advertising slides came on over top of the credits, and the intermission music began instead of the film’s music. A mess! I went to what was hopefully but recklessly called the “concierge” desk and explained the matter to a pair of dazed teenages who hadnt the faintest clue what I was talking about. I filled a form, was promised a pass, and left. Never got that pass, tho.

By the end of 2005, The Loews Cineplex Cherry Hill 24 will be renamed The AMC Cherry Hill 24, once the merger of AMC Theatres and Loews Cineplex Theatres (which was some old theatre companies, including Loew’s Theatres, RKO Century Warner [RKO Stanley Warner], Walter Reade, Plitt) goes through.
This listing should be updated. The Loews Cherry Hill has 24 screens, not 8 screens.
That’s across 38, next to the mall in the Cherry Hill Plaza. The old Eric Twin Route 38 is now a Chuckie Cheeses.
As for the “new” Loews, does anyone like going there? It’s so generic, lacking in character, and the past two times I’ve been there (Ladder 49 and Alexander) the sound was muffled and the image blurry.
And I hate computerized marquees. I’d rather kick it old school at the AMC Marlton with hand-changed titles.
And what’s going on next door to the Target shopping center with those two apartment-hi-rise-looking buildings?
