The Latchis Theatre is listed in the 1920 business directory at 6 Flat Street. 6 Flat Street is around the corer, but is still the same building. However, the description above says this theatre opened in 1938. Was the one in 1920 at 6 Flat Street a different theatre in the same spot? Was it located elsewhere in the same building?
I believe Lyric is an older name for Braintree because in the 1938 FDY the seating capacity for the Lyric in 665. The next FDY I have is 1944 and the Lyric disappears while the Braintree appears also with a capacity of 665.
Are you sure this one is demolished? The building that houses GEM Printing at 307 State Street sure looks like it is over 100 years old. If you look at the roof on Bing Maps birds eye view you can see the roof peaks in the middle which seems to indicate the theatre was on the top floor of this building.

I was there yesterday. It doesn’t look like a theatre at all.
Not sure this is demolished. Google Maps and Bing Maps both show it still standing at 111 College Ave, unless it has very recently been demolished.
