The Drive-In was at the site of what is now the Brook Hollow Village Shopping Center. The Entrance was at what is now Brook Hollow Parkway, before there was a Brook Hollow Parkway. The North edge of the Drive-In was what is now Brook Hollow Parkway.
A 2 bedroom apartment was built into the concession stand.
The screen was at the East end of the lot.
Held from ~594-~642? cars.
Open from ~1961-~1985? Can anyone verify the exact dates?
Open for sure in 1967.
Owned by Storey Theatres, Inc. of Atlanta, Frederick G. Storey, President and Gen. Mgr., they owned 16 theaters all in Georgia.
Why not use 117 North Broadway Avenue as the address? That’s pretty close and gets it to the block rather than the entire street in Melrose Park. If anyone ever comes up with a closer address it can always be changed.
A better address, more info and photos are always welcome.
This might be hard to do, but can anyone come up with an exact address? The theater entrance was not right on the corner and even if it was, which corner would it be?
More info and more photos are always welcome.
The second Vindicator is sorta interesting cause it has stuff about the RMS TITANIC which had SUNK JUST SIX DAYS BEFORE!
W. 87th Street and I35 puts it down on the Map South on W 87th TERRACE? Overland Parkway/Switzer Bypass/69 goes over part of the former Drive-In. The Drive-In was in Lenexa. That small area East of I35 and North of 87th Street is NOT part of Overland Park even though those business use an Overland Park adress.
Open ~1950-~1980? Can anyone verify the exact dates?
I spelled it wrong. A French name on what was an Island of Denmark, which is now an Island of the United States, got me a little confused. The Map was also confused, it showed the Southeren United States and the Caribbean, not very helpful!
