Was it the AMC Greens Crossing 6?

The theatre was remodeled with recliners and looks just like all of AMC’s renovated complexes. Red recliners, black carpet with red and yellow circles.

I have information that suggests Regal closed this 4/21/1999. Was is possible that the 5-plex operated for another year after the original theatre closed?

Regal Cinemas operated this theatre from 1994-2001.

Ahh yes — but now I see that the Safari Sports Bar was the theatre, and their current address is 810 Lee Highway.

At Cinematour we have it as 1216 US-72 which is Lee Highway. It maps inside the same shopping center as 810 Lee Highway. The street image above appears to be using the “Old Lee Highway” address.

I believe this theatre was actually opened by Festival Enterprises, which was later acquired by Mann Theatres.

This is actually in Rohnert Park, CA which may at one point have been southern Santa Rosa.

It appears this theatre is open and operated by Satellite Cinemas (www.satellite-cinemas.com)

Scott Neff commented about Regal Cypress Creek Station 16 on Feb 1, 2017 at 12:26 pm

There appear to have been eight Funscape locations total: -Greenrbier 13, Chesapeake VA -Theatre open, Funscape now a gym

-Eastview Mall 13, Victor NY – Theatre open, Funscape appears to be empty.

-Cicero 13, Cicero NY – Theatre closed, both now a car dealership

-Brandywine Town Center 16, Wilmington DE – Theatre open, looks like Funscape was absorbed by mall.

-Green Hills 16, Nashville TN – Theatre open, can’t tell from Google what happened to Funscape

-West Town Mall 9, Knoxville TN – Theatre open, Funscape still kind of there as arcade room and decorative fun entrance to theatre.

-Cyrpress Creek Station 16, Ft Lauderdale FL – Theatre open, looks like Funscape remodeled into store fronts and gym.

-Las Olas 23, Ft Lauderdale FL – both closed, don’t know where in complex the Funscape was.

Did Cobb ever operate this theatre?

It was the extensive gameroom/family fun center was actually called “FunScape”. Regal attempted to make this concept work at four other locations in the US.

Try as hard as they did to get rid of this, AMC has it back again after the purchase of Carmike. :)

This theatre is now branded as one of Carmike’s BigD theatres and operated as the 17th screen of the nearby Broadway Cinemas.

So Kerasotes got this from Goodrich not from Carmike? Any idea when Goodrich got it from Carmike then?

I’m thinking this picture is not of the Fox Theatre that was built/opened in 1970.

You’d have to think that if Regal pulled out, a company like Regency Theatres would go in.

Scott Neff commented about Carmike Cinema 12 on Jan 23, 2017 at 12:10 pm

I have information that suggests this theatre closed in September of 2016. Does anybody have anything that suggests it actually closed January 2017?

When I was updating all the Carmikes to be AMCs on Cinematour I noticed that this was not part of the list on AMC’s website, so I think this closed before December 2016.

Scott Neff commented about Showcase Cinemas Bridgeport on Jan 23, 2017 at 11:58 am

This always puzzled me too. While I’ve never been inside either theatre here, I think it’s strange that the other theatre is the more modern one (didn’t somebody else build it?) and that this one that National built is the less modern. You’d think they would have done something to fix that if they could.

Scott Neff commented about Entertainment Cinemas Seymour Cinema 12 on Jan 23, 2017 at 11:56 am

I’m not positive if this is still the case, but my understanding is that BCG would offer loans to theatre operators in exchange for a cut of their concessions profits until the loan was repaid. If this is the case, then it is in the interest of both companies to promote the theatre. The more money Entertainment Cinemas makes, the quicker their loan is repaid.

Scott Neff commented about Regal Hamilton Place 8 on Jan 20, 2017 at 9:47 am

It’s strange because I have information that suggests the day that this theatre opened Regal acquired a string of theatres from UA (Knoxville Center 10, Capri Cinema 4, Northgate Crossing, Jackson Cinema 10, Southbrook Cinema 7). They didn’t get the 9-plex until almost a year and a half later.

Scott Neff commented about Regal 7 on Jan 19, 2017 at 3:12 pm

This building appears to have been built by Carmike. Does anybody know if Carmike operated it before Regal acquired it or did Regal do some fancy dealing to get it before it opened?
