The only Drive-In listed in Littlefield on the Drive-Ins.com I have lists an L f d Drive-In. There is an X I T Drive-In in Muleshoe, the next major town North of Littlefield.
Looks like there are several spots on Littlefield Hwy that could have contained a drive-in, due to the scars on the ground. Just a few blocks from each other too….
Odd the adverts don’t list any kind of address or directions.
According to the Bronte C of C site, the Texas Theater is open occasionally for stage uses, but they are looking for a projector so they can start show movies again. Population of the town is less than a thousand however.
Address is now 2222 Guadalupe, but this looks to be the CVS currently. Building size and shape matches. Even the CVS sign looks like the Texas sign, just the lower half rebranded. The Texas name remains though.
There are a number of Missions that served the people of the area in the 1700’s. The Alamo is one of them. San Antonio is rich in it’s Spanish heritage.
Looking at Google Earth historical imagery, the drive in was in the NW corner of the current Wal Mart parking lot. SE of the 40th St. N and 82nd Ave N intersection.
The actual store is adjacent to the drive-in property.
The Palace is still there, but the Capitol is now the drive thru for First Financial Bank. Street View shows the building right next to the Capitol (to the North) is still standing, however.

Could this have been the place, out West of town near the airport?

Who cares? They were there and showing movies at one time. So we aren’t allowed to talk about theaters that are no longer open then?
Screen in the folded down position:

They still have a screen located in the end of the parking lot, ENE of the stadium. Any problem with that?
It is. We’re talking about the movie screens. Since the Cowboys abandoned the stadium, they can show movies again. Chill out…..
It’s not like they play football there anymore…..

Looks like this is the place, a couple of doors down from the Asian Pearl restaurant. You can see the glass brick lined ticket booth in the corner.

In a 1954 El Paso phone book I have, the owner is listed as C. M. Garrett. Phone number was 3-4682
No mention of any movies on their limited information website.

Bet we could find the entrance if we had some sort of Aerial view of the old place….
