I think the building burned in the 90’s. I seem to remember driving by and seeing it scorched and borded up. If that is correct, I would have to assume this is what spelled demolition for this property.
Still sitting there. I’ve heard the Lake Shore Athletic club is also set to close soon. It’s possible the owners have plans in the works for the combined space, although it is hard to imagine anyone undertaking a new real estate project under these market conditions.
I don’t think anything has been built on the site yet. I saw it from Peterson Ave. not long ago.
It is in rough shape inside. Not devastated. But definitely in rough shape.

Didn’t last very long as a theatre. Maybe they were offered a price for the property that they couldn’t refuse.

The facade looks pretty haphazard tacked onto the new office tower, at least from the photos I have seen.

If they can run a string of $25 per head events successfully, like the one listed on their web site, my ballpark thinking says they should do OK.
My guess is that nothing will be happening here for a while, given the economic climate out there.
