looks like sales are slow for this theater. No IMAX Digital showtime has been sold out…are things slowing down at this theater? Hopefully better movies will come out at this theater.
If they indeed ran an intermission, then all of the bathrooms in the building (there are a lot) would be packed for 15 or so minutes and the concession stands busy before the movie resumed its second act!!!
online showtimes are now back on for today. Now that the Digital Imax screen is open, will another 4k installation be on the horizon, just in time for Avatar? I hope so.
I agree. From now on I’ll save money and just spend it on movie tickets and using my moviewatcher card and probably hoping for a free ticket reward instead of getting the free popcorn/drink combo, which is filling (unless if you drink diet soda and eat popcorn without the butter). Thankfully there are faucets in the lobby and a panera to eat after the movie is over. I usually go to the bathroom during the pre-show so that I can catch the latest trailers before a new release. Unlike the old Rockaway theater, this one doesn’t show a surround sound trailer.

hopefully someone will post this on the front page of CT as this affects AMC and Regal theaters. I hope Clearview doesn’t follow suit….
also during the showing of new moon instead of amc showing the jungle trailer they showed the old one with Clip in it before the movie began….is AMC doing this at other theaters? Welcome back Clip!!!
when will precious open at this theater? It’s doing well at the box office in limited release…amc should get some good movies playing instead of the crap that hollywood is coming out with…sequels, remakes, 3d versions of classic stories, and star-studded movies like 2012. They should play stuff like what’s at East Hanover or in Mountainside, which I haven’t been to. At least New Moon is here to stay.
went to a 4 pm showing of new moon yesterday. good presentation no splices. during the previews the digital sound was on and off before the projectionist reverted to stereo. this is the worst amc loews theater. they should rebuild it as an amc theater with stadium seating and all digital sound, much like rockaway.

It’s a bargain if you use AMC Gold tickets…with $4 for the Digital Imax and $3 for RealD. I will only see an Imax 3D or 2D movie if it was shot/ partially shot in IMAX, not a blown-up version of a 35mm film (as was the case with “Star Trek”, which many fans saw at AMC’s Imax theaters and complained about it). As for RealD, if it’s shot only in RealD, then I’ll see it in 3D. If a 2D movie is shown digitally, I’ll see it. This coming friday there are night showtimes for “New Moon” that are digital. Tomorrow night 16 midnight showings of the “Twilight” sequel will play, which is a record for this theater. Previously, “The Dark Knight” had 8 of the 16 showtimes for midnight and sold really well.
Recently, Ben-Hur was shown on TCM HD, although it was a soft zoomed-in SD picture. Hopefully they come out with a bluray release that will preserve the very wide transfer. Great movie too.

earlier today, channel 13 in NYC showed the radio city xmas spectacular commercial free in hd. It’s no better than going to see it at the hall!!!

advanced showtimes are up for avatar imax 3d but not digital 3d.

Earlier this morning the power was out at the mall. THankfully this theater wasn’t open until later that morning.
