After the closure of the East Town Theatre[70mm theatre],the sound and projection system of the Imperial Cinema is of the highest standard as compared to other cinemas in the Wanchai district of the Hong Kong Island.
This photograph is taken at an exhibition in Hong Kong with permission form the organizer.As the restaurant on the left side of the theatre was in business,this photograph was taken by the unknown photographer in the late 1930s' or the early 1940s' before the outbreak of war on 8th December, 1941.
Correction:This photographs shows the corner of the HSBC Kowloon Headquarter Building,which was built on the site of the former Broadway Theatre on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong.
The ground floor probably is a car park for the patrons of the restaurant,not as a garage as I written in the above introduction of the former Theatre Ria.
