The three sided marquee near the road is still there also, would like to see photos of it when it had the cool looking LOEWS neon signs on it,too bad I did not take anyphotos myself when I worked there.
It maybe Mike that on this film and the 007s Pink Panthers and Rockys,Woody Allen flicks had an exclusive showing at the LOEWS CRESCENT, no one else in town or the burbs had these shows as first runs so they had to come downtown too see them there. If we had run day and date with other houses we would not have done nearly that much.Parking was our biggest problem downtown, not that there was enough it was that you had to pay, free parking at the suburb houses.
One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.NO we did not show JAWS.And yes I have the one sheet that was in the Now Showing attraction case for all that time,It went on the the LOEWS MELROSE and LOEWS MADISON for 3 more weeks after it left downtown, this story is on the LOEWS CRESCENT page.It had a good long run about halfway through the run it won all the Oscars and we started packing them back in,it even did better than adverage box office on it last week there. It was the longest run of any shows I worked.Even the 007s and Rockys would do 8 to 12 weeks at the most.
Interesting,no photos?
Another case of overscreening.
Great Name and it only lasted 1 year.
By the way this building is occupied now they just do not show movies so I think I will leave the exits alone.
No Mike those photos were taken after my time and LOEWS had left. I believe Martin ran it for a few years after LOEWS left town.
Nice looking theatre Chuck.
Nice ad Lost.
Thanks Again.
Thanks Mike.
