The largest screen screen in NYC I would have thought woule be the IMAX at the Loew’s Lincoln Square.

The two largest auditoriums at the AMC Empire 25 are Theatres 1 & 6. I was told by the manager that the screens were the same size but not the size of them.

Ziegfeld is still open. The article deals with theaters in the Time Square area.

One can thank the Republican National Convention being at Madison Square Garden, the Garden is unavalible for the next 5 weeks. All home basketball games had to be moved somewhere.
It is not going to be a permanent installation.

Isn’t the Independent Film Channel turning this into a triplex scheduled to open later this year?

Wasn’t this also called the 57th Street Playhouse for a while. It functioned as a move over theater for the Cinema 1 – ‘The Last Emperor’ in 70mm and they also showed Stop Making Sense and Laurie Anderson’s Home of the Brave. I remember that this theater had one of the first digital sound sysytem in NYC.
