Should be changed to “demolished.” Comparing the buildings in the photo to current Google Street View, the location was on the 100 block of East Johnson Avenue, and is now a vacant lot between the W. A. Benzie Building and a gas station.

Found a couple slides of an outdoor theater in Guantanamo Bay from circa 1957 in this eBay auction; is it the same place? Movie on the marquee is Rock, Pretty Baby.

Got the photo loaded – mods please correct the state (did Elkhart extend into OK in 1958 or is that more recent?). Same guy managed the Doric in midtown.
The Lake briefly appears in the 1975 Jonathan Demme film Crazy Mama. The scene is set in 1958 and the marquee shows Vertigo and Man of the West. I’ve posted a composite image made from several frames since the shot panned down and across it.

Address is 124 E. Main St.; since then it was torn down and replaced by the Citizens National Bank. The building on the right still stands.
Thanks Bob - upgraded it. An obituary I found online for Norman Key states that the theater closed by the early 1970s.

The first listing for the Odem-Medo I’ve found was an ad in the 1952 Redmond High School yearbook announcing the opening of the drive-in.
The Odem Theatre last advertised in the Redmond High School yearbook in 1959.

WWII photos circa 1945 show it as the Palace, with a blade sign and a small marquee.
Added another photo from ‘58. If you think it looked desolate in the first shot, it’s even more so in the snow.

The manager in 1958 was Delbert Stewart, per an ad in that year’s Elkhart High School yearbook.
The second one is the Sands Drive-In – starting a page on it now.
Does anyone know the correct opening date? It had to have been 1965 at the latest, not 1975.
