Jordangle , i was the Manager at the time that happened I remember it like it was yesterday . We had a union projectionist at the time he was in his late 70’s and he couldn’t remember what reel he put on he was rattled .
Does anyone Know my best Friend Marsha Naify, she use to run that dump and then she was District Manager for that area. It was a dump in 1981 i could imagine what it looks like today.

I was there in 79/ 80 I loved Joesphine she was so Damn nice Didn’t speak good English but she tried, She was Sharp, I helped her run the Twin , and taught her how do handle crowds, the thing I liked most she wasn’t afraid to get dirty if something broke, I am glad she made it too District Manager Where is she now?? I know Marsha got married shes so Happy now, Those were Fun Times in the olden days.
To; all this weekend they are having a demo sale they are tearing the building down, they have the Box office Complete Free Standing and all the seats ,the projectors and all booth equiptment, candy counters,Popcorn Machine, front doors, glass blocks in lobby, marquee letters and the P A R K from the vertical Sign , also lighted Poster Cases. The sale is THIS Sat And Sun 11/02-11/03 9 am to 4 pm , Bring Flashlight it is dark in there
i THINK THIS PROJECT MUST BE DEAD NOTHING HAPPENING! IT SAYS WAS GOING TO OPEN APRIL 2013, THAT DATE HAS COME AND GONE IF IT WAS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN INSIDE AND TAKING PICTURES TO POST , I KNEW IT WAS NOT GOING TO EVER HAPPEN
this theatre reminded me of Larry’s favorite theatre The FOX SKYLINE sharp parks blvd in San Bruno, After NGC, Mann Closed it David Cooper ran it as a dollar theatre until he closed it and GCC tore it down, I liked the concession stand in the round.
This was a hard theater to keep a Manager in because when the built the other 4 screens upstairs, One Manager for both houses and 1 projectionest for both locations Scheduling showtimes was hell, because you had to leave enough time for the projectionest to get back and forth without killing him, always the downstairs played the move over from the new theatre upstairs, We discounted the downstairs theater after the first year. they had to do 2 seperate inventories payrolls and split the booth hours also we hired many house Managers for the lower theater , It was a very seedy customer base after dark
when you were Manager if you could not get through the mall after closing you had to walk around the outside to get back and forth taking every risk of getting shot at
I was the District Manager for this Theatre and I was shot at one evening when doing a theatre visit walking outside to the other theater, That ended my night visits for that location
what a great idea but it sounds like a scam to me whom ever owns the organ,should be donating it to the Castro, they will have no use for it any where else!
Eric So well Put I was thinking about you and Mr Albert and Birdy, and Dudley and Tim and Kathy, These were sun Fun Days that i had the pleasure of being there and having so many times that, I was so bored and couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there . And yes you did a Great Job in the booth. you didnt mention my favorite projectionest was Jim Dixon. email me sum time John Tarantino

I WORKED WITH BILL TANNEHILL THERE TRAINING TO OPEN mANN’S FASHION ISLAND 6 IN FOSTER CITY AND I REMEMBER WHEN SCRAPPY MOVED TO THE FOX T AND C WHEN THEY SOLD THE SAN MATEO BEVERLY ALSO TRANSFERED THERE AND SLEPT IN THE JANITORS CLOSET.
This was a nice theatre I grew up at this theater My Mom was the first Woman manager for NGC theatres and this was the 2nd theatre, She Managed First she was at the FOX in redwood city then she took over the Carlos from there she went to The FOX Stanford, then Mann Closed all the Fox Theaters on the Peninsula. I loved the Carlos it was a very busy theater when it was booked. I remember we played WILLARD to packed houses daily. then Eureka Federal Savings bought the property and tore the teater down and built the entire corner downtown with office buildings and the bank and a penthouse living space.

this was a General Cinema Theater I was the Manager for a day Didn’t Like Stockton, at all, When I was there they had triplexed it

Yes Chuck, I agree when I ran the Coronet and the Northpoint and The Millbrae all were Single screens I loved it!

yes,the Theatre was on the same side as Gold Mine you came in the entrance and it was the first space on the left!
