Noticed this theatre kept the same phone number that the Drive-In had [SElden 2-6200/736-6200]
Must have been tiny auditoriums. This was not a large building.
Please update, closed April 17, 2003. It open on May 24, 1985 as 8 screens,10 screens on April 13, 1990 and to 12 screens on May 20, 1994

hdtv267 – I was once told the main photos rotate, but I don’t think so. It has to do with the order in which they are uploaded. There is no way to designate a specific photos.

There’s inside pictures of it on Photobucket if you are interested in seeing them!… Everything falling apart and messed up with everything all over the place. Id like to get inside it myself and take my own pictures of it before it gets demolished in 2014 supposedly to make way for the new shopping center BUT there’s no way to get inside of it during day since there is traffic all around it constantly and I believe there is a no trespassing sign there blah blah blah. But I actually saved the pictures I found on Photobucket to my laptop so I will upload them on here now so you can see for yourself Kino
@CSWalczak: That shot of Coram Cinema in it’s current state of graffiti grime was frightening. Having lived in the W-section in the mid-90’s, I remember when it was shiny and new. Never my favorite theater in the area, I do recall seeing a few memorable shows here like Casino.
I happened upon this theater the other day while up in Coram and my wife remarked that she remembered when the theater was open. Does anyone know if the interior is intact (other than the area under the hole in the roof) or if it has been vandalized inside?

There is a picture, and a sad sight it is, in the Newsday article. But that’s probably copyrighted material. Also, I wouldn’t even know how to go about linking it. But it’s still better than the aerial photo in the link a couple of comments back showing the hole in the roof after a 2007 fire.
It’s sad that there isn’t even a picture to display.
According to an article in the September 20, 2011 Newsday plans are moving forward to demolish the theatre and redevelop the site for housing and commercial use. An optomist target date of 2012 was set.

Not the case here, but interestingly, the former UA Patchogue Multiplex was also built on the site of the old Patchogue Drive in….but in that case, the Drive in also had an indoor theater building for when there was bad weather, winter, etc….and they incorporated that into one of the new auditoriums of the Patchogue Multiplex that was built around it.
By rights I think there should be a separate entry for the Drive In. Theatre is on the same site but it’s a multiplex not a drive in.
Having said that, I was in the Hollywood Ice Cream Parlour on Rt 25, Middle Country Road in Medford last night and among the memoriabilia they had on the wall were two advertising cards for the drive-in.

The Coram multiplex building is falling deeper and deeper into shambles every time I go by. the whole site is overgrown, and the building covered in graffiti at this point, all with slashed awnings, etc. the place looks terrible.
Thanks for the clarification…yeah, I meant the restored 1920s theater on Main St. :–) But I digress…was on YouTube just now, and stumbled across something that should bring back memories for anyone who frequented the UA in the mid-to-late 80s like me…

Jared, I think you are confusing Chuck’s “Patchogue theater” comments, which is the beautiful 1920’s theater on Main St with the Multiplex Patchouge 13 on Sunrise Hwy.
The theater is a kids hangout inside. And I mean a LOT of kids hang in there all weekend. Which probably is why the place is a complete mess. I’ve heard, and I don’t know how true it is, that shoprite had an interest in buying the land the theater sits on.
