Status update the theater is being gutted for a restaurant/ retail space at the new Asheville Outlet Mall. Very sad no chain came in to rescue this theater.
It appears that demolition of this theater has started. The box office is intact, but all the outer and inner doors are gone and it looks like they are also removing the seats. Very sad this theater could have come back big time when the mall takes off if a new chain like AMC invested money in it and converted it to digital and one of their cinema and dines.

PLEASE UPDATE THEATER AS CLOSED. THEY CLOSED YESTEERDAY. ALSO SCREENS SHOULD HAVE BEEN 5.
MIKE
The theater is closing. There last day of business will be July 20. There reasoning is because of the mall renovations which is a crock. That mall has been dead for 20 years. They choose not to put any money in this theater for years and went to a discount house in Oct 2010. Very sad as there have been many upset people about this on their Facebook page. They said they are in early negotiations with the mall developer( a new outlet mall)to possibly open a new theater. All I can say to the ownership of this theater is Bah Hum Bug.
The first in Cinebarre chain they let this theater loose business by not keeping up with the time. They never installed 3-D projection even before the big digital boom which caused them to loose business and covnert to a discount house. Still in operation showing 35mm prints I don’t know how long they will be able to last without going digital. They were given a new lease with the new owners of the mall which are totally gutting it and making it an outlet mall. I hope they will either go digital or get purchased by another chain. The food is great but pricy. They do need to learn how to treat their employees. Wait staff is demoted to tickettaking or busing if they dont' pull in a certain quota of food sales which is rediculous becuase you can’t force people to but food or drinks.
I have found the ads for the Biltmore Square Cinemas grand opening and this information will be reinstated and reposted for Cinema Treasures. As far as the information on this theatre is concerned, this theatre originally opened under United Artists Theatres and was later bought out by Regal Cinemas and finally was acquired by Cinebarre Corporation. I have the ads.

Does anybody in the Asheville area know if this theater will be a casulty of digital projection? I love this theater.
Cinebarre started this past weekend with second run movies. Admission is $3.00. It really saddens me because this was thier first theater and it was very popular for along time. Part of it is the mahagement’s fault beccause they did not show any of the blockbuster filsm this summer in 3-D. I know they lsot my business on Avitar and Alice In Wonderland. That was a really poor decesion and something they should rethink for the future.
The Regal Biltmore Grande stadium 15 is proibibly what hurt their business being just 4 miles down the interstae at the next exit even tough the sound is so loud that I refuse to attend that theater because it actually hurts your ears.
Thanks,Chris.
And now, back to comments about this theater. According to this article, competition from newer nearby multiplxes has compelled management to run the Cinebarré as a second-run house and that it will be rebranded as the Cinebarré Classic: View link
Outside of Robin and Ray Hutto at SOUTHSIDE THEATRE in Augusta {on CT] I am the only one here and Robin really doesn’t get deep into the Histories.
Very true Mike, but I am only one person, thank goodness! And those KNOXVILLE people like to talk it up.
TLSLOEWS.I still think you could work up a good story or two on your NASHVILLE theatres like Nick is doing. KNOXVILLE is smaller than NASHVILLE,but has alot more theatre stories.
Thanks Mike.
Where Did the BILTMORE TWIN go to is this new theatre in the same location. BILTMORE TWIN was on FORREST CENTER?

Well it is a great concept. The one in Asheville is really doing well as you know by the USA article last week. Plus, the food is good quality better than some restaurants.
YES……. IT SEEMS AS IF ITS A LOOPHOLE WHEN THEY NEED TO SELL OFF THEATERS…………
