This theater is being renovated according to their facebook page. 6 of the 12 screens will have recliners and dolby atmos.
This opened on May 14th, 1999. Its grand opening ad can in be in the photo section.

@moviebuff82 yeah they were also, I believe, the first theater in NJ to use the back speaker, I think they put that in for TPM.
Is it screens 3 and 4 that are the super large ones? I forget. I just know that two of the side by side auditoriums here are huge and have, AFAIK, the largest two screens in all of central and northern NJ. They are supposed to be 70'x30'.
Having worked in nearby Hillsborough for about 10 years, and following the many floods in Manville from the 2 rivers, this place has always been referred to as 180 in any articles. Perhaps 140 is another store within the retail center.
Uploaded several photos. I question the address in the overview since I saw it referenced online as 140 North Main Street. Any Jerseyites can confirm or refute?

This is owned by Reading Cinemas, which started as the Reading Railroad. The old train station in Manville was owned by Central RR of NJ, which was taken over by Reading in 1901.
Extra security is now at this theater due to people wearing masks at the dark knight rises midnight showings. I read about it on news 12 nj.
One of the first theaters in the world to use Dolby Surround 7.1, just for Toy Story 3, according to Dolby’s website.

Today, March 14, 2010, Manville is under water again. I dont know if this theatre floods or is affected like the Brook Arts Center is in neighboring Bound Brook
saw Public Enemies back in the summer on screen 6. picture was cut off on the sides, I guess 2.35 is too wide, everything is shown at a compromise of about 2.1 AR. I think I saw Golden Compass in the same auditorium and noticed the same problem. The bigger screens (3 and 4 I believe) don’t have this problem; Simpsons Movie and Live Free or Die Hard were shown at their full 2.35 shape.
Monsters vs Aliens will be the first movie shown in RealD at this theater starting tomorrow.
This theater lacks the DVS/OC stuff for the disabled, leaving that to Bridgewater. Hopefully they’ll upgrade their projection to DLP soon…as their preshow is still filmed.

Just went to this theater again for the first time in a few years to see “Waitress” at screen 12, the smallest of the theaters. Decent presentation despite the fact that this theater is near a major road construction project that is costing $15 million in taxes, all due to the flood. Thankfully, the theater wasn’t hit hard by the noreaster.
This theater is 7 years old it first opened in May of 1999. It is very big and has two 500 seat theaters with huge screens. The place is always clean and the people who work there are always nice to customers, and yes the bathrooms are huge and clean.
