We need to talk about this Theatre Cherrydale 16. Well, you know how i feel about all these screens. I drove by the EVANS 14 Cinemas this evening,Counted about 30 cars. That is about what we would have at COLUMBIA 1 and 2 during school nights and it was 1978! AND TWO BIG SCREENS,

Man, I just don’t believe that.We were on salary so what did it really matter.

Now you see that is the difference between a big city theatre person and a small friendlier theatre assistant manager, We are just a bit nicer to folks that come to our theatres. And i don’t believe you would tell them to “GET OUT!”

WE had Stinking pinball machines at COLUMBIA SQ. and at GCC we had Video games a couple i think tucked over under the stairs that went up to the restrooms, booth and offices. I hated them.Someone would always throw a quarter in at 11:45 pm ans i am ready to get.

Mike I remember we had pinball and video games in the lobby of the LOEWS MELROSE in the latter days I know it was another way to make some money but you could hear them in the theatre while the movie was playing I never liked that but no one complained that I can remember.

Oh for the good old days of a single screen house with 781 seats and great movies.Yeah, I am speaking of NATIONAL HILLS THEATRE and all the of great theatres that were built for showmanship and not video games.
