Discovered this website while searching online for the Murray Theater in Milwaukee – a theater that my 98 year old mother recalls attending in 1929-1930. She does not remember the organ (sorry Mr. Jensen), but does recall that admission was 10 cents. Her parents were Swedish immigrants and they moved their family to a flat on Murray Ave after leaving their original homestead in Clark County, WI. I followed the link provided by mjholmes (in this thread) to the Milwaukee Public Library Photo Archive and printed the 1950s photo of the building for her view. She has confirmed that it is the Murray Theater she recalls from decades earlier. Oh, how we wish that building could have been preserved!

The attached link to the Milwaukee Public Library Historic Photo Archive shows the corner of Murray and Thomas in the early 1950’s. http://content.mpl.org/cdm4/item_viewer.php?CISOROOT=/HstoricPho&CISOPTR=4880&CISOBOX=1&REC=1 Does anyone know if the building shown is the Murray Theater? An A&P is to the south and then the bank, now US Bank.
