In 1924 Aberdare Cinemas (1923) Ltd is noted as the Propreitors with prices of 6d to 1/3d. Records shpow that a British Thomson Howell sound system took the cinema into the sound era, when the cinema could seat 800 people. This was still in situ in 1951 when prices were from 1/– to 2/7d.

EDITHA, I have enjoyed reading about your theatres in England.

Dear Editha,
I have enjoyed beyond belief the contributions you and others have posted here in the last few weeks regarding all the wonderful buildings in South Wales in the Glamorgan area.
Terrific reading!
I posted the threads for the old Swansea main cinemas such as the Plaza, Albert Hall, Castle, Carlton etc (together with photos!) over the last few years and was wondering if you had more detailed info other than what I was able to provide.
Many thanks in anticipation.
Kind regards.
