I believe this started out as the “Capital Drive-in” and was located on the east side of what was then Downtown Blvd just north of Yonkers Rd. The Beltline hadn’t been built yet.

The UNC Chapel Hill Library has a collection of “USDA Historical Aerial Photos” and the 1959 image 7W-20 shows the location.

The name was changed to “Forest Drive-In” when it moved to its second location on the west side of North Blvd (now Capital Blvd).

Note that the Forest Drive-In, when new in 1949, was located on the east side of what is now Capital Blvd and the 440 beltline. See https://www.facebook.com/olderaleigh/photos/a.1014461058646179/1870401096385500/?type=3&theater

The second location is described above. Neither locations were on Old Wake Forest Rd as indicated.

No remnants of the last location of the theater show up since it is now Tarrymore Square shopping center at the corner of New Hope Church Rd. and Capital Blvd. The location listed above is incorrect.
