Yes! I recognize it from the 1933 b/w photo.I saw the “Desert Song ” (1929) there, “Mr.Midshipman Easy”, probably “When knights were bold” w. Jack Buchanan, and a film with Diana Churchill in it. Can’t recall the title. Nice, cosy, little cinema.

I worked as a relief projectionist at this cinema when it was known as The Brighton Film Theatre and run by Myles Byrne’s and the BFI. Yes the equipment was old but it did all work.

Several years ago I went into the projection box of the Cinescene. They were using Kalee 21 projectors with President arcs. A Duosonic sound system was also employed.
